By the Humber this morning
Took a walk by the Humber this morning with a friend. Not with the intention of having a Listen but having one anyway.
The two of us looking out at the muddy water. Spotting a bike floating in the arms of Jesus, as my friend remarked.
The "Voyage" statue looking out wistfully towards Iceland. Their twin looking back from Vik on the South East coast.
Thoughts of my Icelandic friend Lilja who was here on a flying visit last weekend. And the bond that goes back 20+ years now.
Me and her, chalk and cheese, iron that once sharpened iron. Now enjoying the shine we've made on each other. Thankful for the connection still there.
Drifting on to a busy Humber Street. A buzz in the air, lots of bags and brollies at the ready. Enjoying the colours of coats and tights and Christmas lights.
