Beautiful and Upsetting

Yesterday's walk around Fordyke Green....

Beautiful, and upsetting; historic build-up of small litter mostly from the nearby school, some fly tipping and a historic drain clogged up in places, and not moving either to Holderness drain or to the river Hull as it was created for. 

Fordyke drain is one of the 4 drains dug by Meaux Abbey monks, to drain the land, and transport wool and grain to Hull port. 

The land and waterways are waiting for our care, protection, redemption; waiting to reconnect with our young people.
